Apex Northern Group Slams  Rumour Mongers Over Claims of INEC Chairman’s Replacement

Isiawa Onche

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has vehemently condemned the recent spate of rumors alleging the replacement of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

The Arewa group in a statement issued by it’s President General Yerima Shettima categorically describe such claims as ‘fake and mischievous,’ aimed at sowing discord and confusion within the political landscape of our great nation.

Shettima said, in a time when Nigeria is striving for unity and progress under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the dissemination of such baseless rumors serves no purpose other than to undermine the credibility of our democratic institutions.

The AYCF urges all citizens to recognize these fabrications for what they are: attempts by detractors to destabilize the current administration and distract from its agenda of governance and national development.

“It is crucial for the public to understand that the integrity of the electoral process is paramount to our democracy. The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has been at the forefront of ensuring free and fair elections in Nigeria. Any attempt to disrupt this process is an affront to the democratic principles we hold dear.

“We warn those behind these malicious rumors to desist immediately. Such actions are not only irresponsible but also detrimental to the collective aspirations of the Nigerian people. Instead of engaging in the politics of division, we implore all citizens and political actors to allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to function smoothly, focusing on policies and initiatives that will foster national growth and development.

“Furthermore, we urge the public to remain vigilant and discerning when it comes to information regarding government appointments and decisions. In this digital age, where misinformation spreads rapidly, it is essential to rely on official announcements from credible sources.

“Any news regarding changes in the leadership of INEC or other significant political developments should only be trusted if it comes from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) or other verified official channels”.

He posited that as we navigate this critical phase in our nation’s history, let us prioritize unity, progress, and the rule of law.

The AYCF called upon all Nigerians to stand together against the forces of misinformation and to support the efforts of our leaders in building a prosperous future for our country.

The President General said, the forum remain committed to advocating for the interests of the youth and the broader Arewa community. We will continue to monitor the political landscape and engage constructively with all stakeholders to ensure that the voices of our people are heard and respected.

Middle Belt Forum Praises President Tinubu for Appointing Ajularin as NNPCL Boss

By Jonathan Somna

ABUJA — The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Engineer Bayo Ajularin as the new Group Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), describing the move as a commitment to merit, national unity, and inclusivity.

In a statement released on Monday, April 8, 2025, and signed by the Forum’s spokesman, Luka Binniyat, the MBF congratulated Ajularin and extended gratitude to President Tinubu for what it called a “thoughtful and strategic” decision.

“Mr. Ajularin, a distinguished son of Oke Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, embodies the values of integrity, dedication, and professional competence that abound in the Middle Belt region,” the statement read.

The Forum highlighted Ajularin’s vast industry knowledge and his strong professional background, stating that his appointment is both a personal achievement and a source of pride for the Middle Belt region.

“This decision reflects Mr. President’s unwavering commitment to excellence and recognition of merit irrespective of geography,” the MBF stated.

The Forum expressed confidence that Ajularin would live up to expectations and contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria’s hydrocarbon sector, which remains the nation’s economic mainstay.

The MBF reiterated its support for the President’s efforts to ensure inclusive and competent leadership across national institutions.

NSCF Demands Probe  into Allegations Against Defence Minister Muhammed Badaru

By Christy Adikwu

The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has expressed its deep concern regarding the allegations of abuse of office and conflict of interest against the Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammed Abubakar Badaru, and demands a serious probe into the matter.

The forum, in a statement issued by its spokesperson Aliyu Muhammad, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to initiate a comprehensive probe into the matter, reinforcing the integrity of his administration’s commitment to the fight against corruption. “It is imperative to highlight that the principles of transparency and accountability are foundational to good governance.”

Muhammad noted that the recent petition submitted by the Young Guardians of Accountability (YGA) has brought to light troubling claims that Minister Badaru has violated federal laws by maintaining active business interests while serving in a public office. He added that the YGA’s allegations indicate that the minister continues to operate private companies, including a Bureau de Change, in direct contravention of legal restrictions that prohibit such conflicts of interest.

The NSCF acknowledged the commendable efforts made by President Tinubu’s administration in addressing corruption but urged the President to demonstrate consistency in applying the same level of scrutiny to Minister Badaru.

“The establishment of a committee to investigate allegations of financial misconduct against Edu was a necessary step towards accountability. It is crucial that this same rigor be extended to all public officials, including those in the highest echelons of government.

“The President cannot afford to be selective in the war against corruption. If the administration is to maintain its credibility and the trust of the Nigerian people, it must be unwavering in its commitment to uphold the law. The perception of selectivity in the fight against corruption undermines public confidence and could potentially erode the very foundation upon which this administration stands.”

“It is our belief that the allegations against Minister Badaru, if left unaddressed, will foster an environment of skepticism and distrust among the citizenry regarding the government’s anti-corruption stance.”

NSCF recognized that the fight against corruption is a complex and multifaceted challenge, but it is one that must be met with steadfast resolve. The assurance given by this administration that no one is above the law must be upheld in practice, not merely in rhetoric.

“The selective investigation of certain individuals while others remain unaccountable creates an impression of favoritism and inequity that is detrimental to the principles of justice and fairness. This situation is not merely a matter of ethical governance; it poses significant risks to national security. The individual responsible for protecting our borders and ensuring the safety of our citizens must be above reproach, both in conduct and in perception.

“It is deeply troubling that the individual responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s defense and security is involved in financial dealings that could pose a conflict of interest. This is not just about corruption—it is about the safety and security of the nation. If the allegations are true, then Mr. Badaru must step aside to allow a full and independent investigation,” the statement from the organization reads.

The implications of these allegations extend beyond mere governance; they touch upon the very fabric of our national sovereignty. If a minister entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding our nation is entangled in questionable financial activities, it raises legitimate concerns about the prioritization of national interests over personal gain, the group stated.

The citizens of Nigeria deserve to have confidence in their leaders, and any shadow of doubt must be addressed transparently and decisively.

Furthermore, the NSCF urged President Tinubu to reassure Nigerians that his government is steadfast in its commitment to accountability across all sectors.

“We are calling on the President to act decisively and prove that his administration’s anti-corruption agenda is not just rhetoric. The credibility of this government is at stake, and Nigerians are watching closely,” the group emphasized.

In a time when our nation faces numerous challenges—ranging from security threats to economic instability—leadership integrity is crucial.

The NSCF reiterated its call for Minister Badaru to step aside during the investigation process to ensure that it is conducted without bias or interference.

“The safety and security of Nigeria must always come first, and we must work collectively to uphold the values of integrity and accountability in our governance,” the statement concluded.

Shehu Sani to Fulani Group,Tell Your People to Stop Banditry,Kidnappings, Herdsmen Violence

… Donates N1m Naira for procurement of Educational Activities

Former Lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani has urged the group of fulanis that visited him for Sallah homage at his Kaduna residence to tell their people to stop banditry, kidnappings and herdsmen violence in the North and other parts of the country.

Shehu Sani,President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, (CRCN) and leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria, overtly expressed dismay over the tarnished image of the Fulanis over issues of banditry and kidnappings .

“It is unfortunate that most of the Bandits and kidnappers in the North are basically fulanis and that’s the truth you know, but may not like.”he lamented.

Shehu Sani who stated this during the visit by Fulani Group, said its high time, something is done immediately to redeem image of the Fulani ethnic group now because,”The activities of Bandits have destroyed the lives and reputations of even the fulani people.

While urging the group to commence image minding activities to redeem the tarnished image of the ordinary and good fulanis across the country, he stressed,”You have a moral and patriotic duty to tell your people in your own language to stop the criminality of kidnappings and banditry.

“For centuries,Fulanis have been known to be peaceful and accommodating people…why should you allow your ethnic group become a brand for violence?

Speaking further the said He explained: “Today the fulanis that have become a complete nuisance as herdsmen, bandits and as terrorists,it couldn’t have happened .
“The people we failed to educate three to four decades ago ,have today constituted the major problem for the northwest, northern power of Nigeria and for most part of the country in terms of security matters.

“The North is a victim of its own leaders who failed to educate the nomads in our hinterland that today constitute a problem to the security and peace of the country”

“We failed to give them books and pens and now they are chasing us with Guns.

” The Babangida’s nomadic education program was a visionary idea nurtured by the then minister of education professor Jibril Aminu,a fulani man like you and the commission was deliberately starved of funds and left to die.

“Livestock is a multi billion Naira business. The nation must find a way to harness it. The recent establishment of the federal ministry of livestock is a step in the right direction.

“Most of the leading bandits in Niger state; Zamfara State , Kaduna State have never hidden their identity as fulanis. They killed imams; pastors, Muslims and Christians they even kill leaders of Miyetti Allah.

“Unfortunately, the attack that happened in School of Agric. mechanisation the families paid over 300 million naira;the attack that happened in Bethel Baptist School, the families paid over 250 million naira and the attack that happened in Green Field University, the families paid over 400 million naira as ransom

“Think of the ransom that was paid for Federal Government College ,Yawuri, Government Science College,Kagara, Girls Schools in Jangibe and kankara ,think of all those ransom.

“If you put it together in bulk, it’s in billions Fulanis have collecting billions as ransom but, you can’t see one Fulani man in the whole of this Kaduna with one million naira ,so what takes the money .

“If you are involved in extortion you ought to have been seen the fulanis with wealth, cars businesses and other assets, but none .Today the fulanis are poorer than before the era of banditry.

“Before Fulanis took to banditry you will see a fulani with over a thousand vows .Now however many fulanis have cows, few. So, it means that there is a possibility that the your people ,the fulanis are used as foot soldiers by some forces that are unknown.

“All the bandits when they are arrested you see wretched look ,they don’t even have clothes to wear food to eat .No homes .”
Earlier in his speech, the group leader of the Fulani group, Hassan Lamido thanked Shehu Sani for the warm reception accorded during the Sallah homage and solicited support of funds to procure educational materials for onward distribution to young fulani children in Giwa and Birnin -Gwari local government areas of Kaduna State.

Lamido, who disclosed why the group was established, said the campaign to Create awareness for the “Back to School” amongst the Fulanis was informed by the relative peace achieved and importance of education for development.

Shehu Sani however, donated one million Naira as support for immediate procurement of the educational materials requested.

Plateau Killings: AYCF Demands Justice, Compensation for Victims

By Babalele Musa

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has strongly condemned the recent brutal killings of innocent residents in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as a senseless act of violence that has left numerous families in mourning and entire communities devastated.

In a statement released by its President General, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the AYCF lamented the recurring attacks on innocent citizens and called on the government to take immediate and decisive action to halt the bloodshed.

A Call for Justice and Government Action

The AYCF emphasized that the killings in Plateau State were not only a violation of human rights but also a glaring reflection of the growing insecurity in the country. The organization insisted that the perpetrators of the heinous act must be apprehended and made to face justice.

“The pain and trauma caused by such violence cannot be understated,” Shettima stated. “It is imperative that the government prioritizes the safety of its people by implementing comprehensive security reforms.”

Demands for Compensation

Beyond seeking justice, the AYCF called on the government to provide adequate compensation for the victims’ families. The forum insisted that although nothing could truly make up for the loss of human lives, financial support was crucial to help survivors rebuild their lives.

“We demand that the government establish a special fund to support the victims,” the statement read. “This should cover medical aid, psychological support, and financial compensation for the families of those who have lost their loved ones.”

Solidarity with Plateau State

The AYCF also extended condolences to the people of Plateau State and the Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, expressing grief over what it described as yet another avoidable bloodbath.

The organization reiterated its stance that the government must do more to prevent such tragedies and ensure the safety and dignity of every Nigerian citizen.

“This is not just a call for justice; it is a call for compassion, accountability, and collective responsibility,” Shettima added.

As the nation mourns yet another tragic loss of innocent lives, the question remains—will the authorities take decisive action, or will this cycle of violence continue unchecked?

Court Stops Pro-Wike Rally in Bayelsa: Youth Leader Hails Ruling as Victory for Peace

By Mike Odeh James (Oche-Agbo)

The Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (UYAN), Comrade Gbenga Fajoye, has lauded the Bayelsa State High Court for issuing an injunction to halt a proposed pro-Wike rally scheduled to hold next week in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The rally, organized by supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, had stirred widespread controversy and backlash, particularly from the Ijaw ethnic group and other concerned stakeholders in the region. Fears of possible unrest and violent confrontation prompted calls for its cancellation.

Tensions had been on the rise in the lead-up to the rally, with many residents and groups warning that it could reignite unresolved political and ethnic grievances. Responding to growing public concern, the Bayelsa State Government sought judicial intervention to preempt potential chaos. The High Court subsequently issued an injunction suspending the event, citing the risk to public peace and safety.

In a statement issued to the press on Saturday, Comrade Fajoye praised the court’s decision, describing it as a judgment with a “human face.” He said the ruling prioritized the well-being of the people over political interests and helped avert an imminent crisis.

“I wholeheartedly welcome the court’s decision to put a stop to the rally,” Fajoye stated. “If the rally had proceeded, the lingering tensions between the Ijaw nation and the unresolved issues surrounding the FCT Minister could have easily erupted into violence and bloodshed. The judiciary has once again proven its vital role in safeguarding peace.”

Fajoye also commended Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri for his calm and thoughtful handling of the situation, describing the governor’s approach as mature and peace-oriented.

“I must commend Governor Diri for his wisdom and restraint,” he added. “His leadership in the face of provocation demonstrates a deep commitment to the peace and unity of the South-South region.”

The youth leader went further to advise the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to be mindful of his actions and not allow himself to be used to destabilize the Niger Delta. While acknowledging that political ambition is natural, Fajoye warned that such aspirations must never be pursued at the expense of regional harmony.

“I urge Barr. Wike to tread carefully and not be perceived as someone with ulterior motives,” he said. “The Niger Delta is a sensitive region, and any attempt to divide its people will only bring setbacks. We’ve endured enough strife in the past and cannot afford more disruptions fueled by political gamesmanship.”

Fajoye’s remarks echo a growing sentiment among South-South youth leaders and other community stakeholders, who have expressed unease over the region’s increasing political tension. Many believe that early-stage political rallies, if not properly managed, could trigger instability.

The Bayelsa court ruling has, therefore, been widely welcomed as a proactive step toward preserving peace. It also reinforces the importance of responsible political conduct in a region still grappling with the legacies of unrest and marginalization.

In conclusion, while the political climate in the South-South remains delicate, Fajoye’s commendation of the judiciary and his call for statesmanship from key political actors serve as timely reminders of the need to prioritize unity, stability, and the collective good above personal ambition.

AYAGL Says Smear Campaigns Against Defence Minister Baseless

By Mike Musa

The Arewa Youths Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has strongly condemned what it describes as politically motivated attempts to tarnish the reputation of the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru. The group insists that these attacks are not just targeted at Badaru but are also an indirect attempt to undermine the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the Speaker of the Assembly, Comrade Abdul Danbature, the AYAGL asserted that these allegations are baseless and should not be taken seriously by Nigerians. The group urged the public to recognize Badaru’s contributions to national security rather than be misled by negative campaigns.

“Minister Badaru’s leadership at the Ministry of Defence has been marked by professionalism, transparency, and a clear vision for improving security across the nation,” the statement read.

Strengthening the Military

The group emphasized that since his appointment, Badaru has worked tirelessly to enhance Nigeria’s military capabilities, ensuring that the armed forces are better equipped to handle emerging security challenges. According to AYAGL, his efforts have been instrumental in keeping Nigeria’s military one of the most formidable forces in the region.

“Through his foresight, the Ministry has seen improved coordination between the military and other security agencies, leading to better operational efficiency and more effective security management,” the statement noted. “This level of collaboration is crucial in enabling the security forces to respond swiftly to both internal and external threats.”

Commitment to Soldiers’ Welfare

AYAGL also commended the Defence Minister’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers, stating that he has championed policies aimed at improving their living conditions and operational effectiveness.

“Minister Badaru has played a key role in securing better funding for the military, ensuring that troops have access to modern equipment, adequate medical support, and high-quality training programs,” the statement added.

The group highlighted that under Badaru’s leadership, morale among security personnel has significantly improved, as the government continues to prioritize their needs.

Diplomatic and Regional Security Efforts

Beyond domestic security, AYAGL acknowledged the Minister’s contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s ties with international allies and regional partners. His strategic approach to diplomatic engagement, the group said, has bolstered Nigeria’s leadership role in African peacekeeping efforts and regional security initiatives.

“Minister Badaru understands that security is not just a national issue but a regional one,” the group stated. “His proactive steps in fostering international cooperation demonstrate his commitment to long-term peace and stability in Nigeria and beyond.”

Condemnation of Smear Campaigns

The youth group expressed concern over the growing trend of smear campaigns against public officials, warning that such acts are designed to distract from the real work of governance.

“It is deeply troubling to witness these unfounded attacks on a leader who has dedicated himself to strengthening Nigeria’s defence sector,” the group said. “Instead of acknowledging the progress made, some individuals are bent on spreading falsehoods and engaging in character assassination.”

AYAGL accused those behind the negative reports of pursuing selfish political interests at the expense of national security.

“We firmly believe that these attacks are motivated by ulterior political or personal agendas. Such campaigns only serve to divide and distract the nation from the critical work of strengthening our security infrastructure,” the statement read.

Call for National Unity and Support

The group urged Nigerians to reject divisive narratives and instead support the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Defence under Badaru’s leadership.

“We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians to rise above the rhetoric and remain steadfast in support of Minister Abubakar Badaru,” the group appealed. “His leadership is focused on ensuring peace and stability across the country, and his unwavering dedication should be celebrated, not undermined.”

To those behind the smear campaigns, Danbature urged them to reconsider their actions and work toward national unity.

“It is time to put aside political or personal differences and focus on what truly matters: the safety, security, and prosperity of Nigeria and its citizens,” he said. “The Ministry of Defence, under Minister Badaru’s guidance, is playing a vital role in national security, and we must all support him in this mission.”

Vote of Confidence in Badaru

Concluding its statement, the AYAGL passed a vote of absolute confidence in Minister Abubakar Badaru, reaffirming its belief in his leadership and dedication to national service.

“Nigeria’s future is brighter with leaders like Minister Badaru at the helm of our defence efforts,” the group declared.

NAN Celebrate Achievements of Mele Kyari, Welcome New Era At NNPCL

Musa Maye

The Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mele Kyari as he transitions into retirement after a distinguished tenure as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

NAN in a statement issued by it’s Chairman Salihu Suleiman averred that under his visionary leadership, NNPCL has undergone transformative changes that have not only revitalized the oil sector but have also laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s economic future.
Mele Kyari’s tenure is marked by a profound commitment to reform, transparency, and sustainability.

“His leadership coincided with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambitious economic reforms, both of which embody a shared vision for a more prosperous Nigeria. The alignment of their objectives has been instrumental in reshaping the landscape of Nigeria’s oil sector, steering it towards a path of economic independence and operational efficiency.

“One of the most notable achievements during Kyari’s leadership was the successful settlement of a $2.4 billion debt with international oil companies (IOCs). This long-standing financial burden had hampered the growth and stability of Nigeria’s oil sector for years. Clearing this debt not only liberated NNPCL from financial constraints but also positioned the company as a debt-free entity, fully prepared for sustainable investment and growth”.

The northern group said such milestone is a testament to Kyari’s strategic foresight and dedication to fostering a robust economic environment.

It further stated that Kyari’s tenure also witnessed the complete removal of fuel subsidies, a bold move that, while initially challenging, has liberated resources and opened avenues for investment, adding that the reform has created a more stable economic landscape, allowing NNPCL to focus on its core activities, including improving gas infrastructure and expanding renewable energy efforts.

“These initiatives reflect Kyari’s understanding of Nigeria’s broader economic potential and his commitment to positioning the nation as a regional energy leader.

“Furthermore, Kyari’s extensive experience in the oil industry, having held key positions under multiple administrations, has earned him the trust of various leaders. His ability to steer NNPC into becoming a limited liability company significantly improved its financial stability and operational efficiency, setting a precedent for future management. The remarkable strides made under his leadership have not only enhanced Nigeria’s energy security but have also attracted foreign direct investment (FDI), with a historic milestone of $17 billion achieved during his tenure.

“The recent initiatives introduced by Kyari have addressed critical challenges that have historically plagued Nigeria’s oil sector, including crude oil theft, infrastructure decay, and investment constraints. By implementing strategic measures aimed at boosting oil and gas production, securing energy supply, and improving efficiency, Kyari has laid the groundwork for a more resilient and prosperous oil industry.

“As Mele Kyari steps into retirement, the Northern Awareness Network expresses its profound gratitude for his contributions and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors, confident that his legacy will continue to inspire and guide the new management of NNPCL.

“Looking ahead, we are optimistic that the incoming leadership will build upon the reforms initiated by Kyari and President Tinubu. The commitment to transparency, efficiency, and sustainability must remain at the forefront of NNPCL’s agenda. The path forward is filled with opportunities, and it is imperative that the new management embraces the vision established by Kyari to ensure the continued growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector.

The Northern Awareness Network says it stands ready to support the ongoing efforts to enhance Nigeria’s energy sector. We believe that with the right leadership and strategic direction, NNPCL can achieve even greater heights, ensuring energy security and economic transformation for all Nigerians.

Arewa Group  Celebrates  Kyari On Retirement As GCEO NNPCL

Omale Adam

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has extended its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Mele Kyari upon his retirement from the position of Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO )of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), following his commendable tenure under both Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

President General of AYCF Yerima Shettima in a statement while reflecting on Mr. Kyari’s numerous accomplishments, said it is evident that his leadership has significantly transformed the Nigerian oil and gas sector, and setting a solid foundation for future growth and sustainability.

According to the youth leader, since his appointment on July 8, 2019, Mr. Kyari has been a beacon of innovative reforms, guiding the NNPCL with a robust operational blueprint that has not only reduced costs but also improved profitability for the national oil company.

“His strategic focus on operational efficiency and transparency has marked a significant departure from the past, ushering in an era of accountability that has been long overdue for an organization historically plagued by corruption and mismanagement.

“Under Mr. Kyari’s visionary leadership, the Transparency, Accountability, and Performance Excellence (TAPE) agenda has effectively dismantled the culture of opaqueness that once characterized the NNPC. This transformative approach has fostered a new culture within the organization, one that prioritizes integrity and performance, thus restoring public trust in the management of Nigeria’s oil resources”.

Shettima averred that one of the most notable achievements during Mr. Kyari’s tenure has been the partnership with Italian oil giant Eni to rehabilitate and upgrade our nation’s refineries, adding that with a target of achieving full production capacity by 2023, this initiative not only promises to enhance local refining capabilities but also aims to significantly reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products which is a critical step towards energy independence and economic self-sufficiency.

“Moreover, Mr. Kyari has overseen the establishment of a new trading subsidiary and a crude oil marketing division, alongside the implementation of a cutting-edge performance management system. These initiatives have streamlined operations and enhanced the NNPC’s competitiveness in the global market, positioning Nigeria as a key player in the oil and gas industry.

“In addition to these operational reforms, Mr. Kyari has been a champion for environmental sustainability. His commitment to increasing domestic gas utilization, reducing the energy mix, and minimizing the carbon footprint of the NNPC has led to the development of new gas infrastructure and the expansion of existing facilities. Under his guidance, Nigeria has emerged as the largest producer of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Africa and ranks among the top ten producers globally.

“This not only enhances our energy security but also opens up new avenues for economic diversification through the promotion of gas-based industries, including petrochemicals and fertilizers.
As Mr. Kyari embarks on the next chapter of his life, the AYCF acknowledges the indelible mark he has left on the Nigerian oil and gas sector”.

Shettima also said, Kyari’s dedication, integrity, and visionary leadership have not only transformed the NNPC but have also contributed to the broader goals of national development and economic prosperity.

“We wish Mr. Mele Kyari all the best in his future endeavors and hope that his legacy of excellence will inspire future leaders in the oil and gas sector. We also hope his successor would continue with the development phase set by Mele Kyari”.

AYCF also said it remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in Nigeria, as we collectively strive for a brighter future for our nation.

Akpabio Sponsoring ‘EFCC Most Wanted Person’ To Recall Me – Sen. Natasha

*Thanks constituents for shaming Yahaya Bello, others

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has insisted that the Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former governor Yahaya Bello, sponsored the recall process, using fake constituents against her.

The federal lawmaker wondered how a Senate President could go low to work with “one of the most EFCC wanted persons” against a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic for selfish reason.

In a thank you statement to her constituents and Nigerians, who came out enmass to welcome her despite various intimidations on Tuesday, Senator Natasha, promised not to let them down.

On Tuesday, supporters from Kogi Central’s five local government areas gathered early in Ihima, Okehi LGA, to welcome the PDP lawmaker.

Natasha received a rousing welcome from supporters despite a government ban on rallies and processions.

The Senator, however, challenged former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello to tell the world where he manufactured the names of those fake constituents calling for recall.

According to her, all available evidences and facts point directly to Bello as the mastermind behind the recall move.

The Senator cited Bello’s past actions before and during the 2023 general elections when he was accused of orchestrating multiple attacks against her, then a candidate.

The statement described the recall attempt as a continuation of Bello’s political vendetta against the senator.

She said: “I will advise the former governor to rather focus on clearing his name over allegations of fraudulent diversion of N89.2 billion, instead of attempting to destabilize the mandate given to me by the people of Kogi Central.

“The former governor’s hands are already full with corruption allegations, yet he is still bent on frustrating the will of the people. His actions before and during the last general elections, where he sponsored numerous attacks against me, are well documented. This recall attempt is nothing but another ploy to undermine the people’s will,” the statement read.

She added: “It is now very clear to the whole world how popular I am in my constituency. The powers that be did try to suppress the will of the people but my people emphatically said no. No to injustice, no to operation of women, no to fake recall, no to Yahaya Bello and his allies.

“They (My people) came out enmass to resist government intimidations. We thank them for the massive show of love. We also thank our oppressors because their actions have now made them more unpopular while we gained more support.

“As more me, I will do more for my people. I will not betray them. I will continue to give my best and they should be rest assure of our best representation all the time,” the Senator said.
