Over 27  Groups Join Matawalle’s Endorsement of Tinubu,Tacke  Northern Conspirators

Markus Yusuf

The endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, is gaining momentum as more influential groups in the North vocally express their support.

Among these groups, the Women and Youth Northern Empowerment (WYNE), an alliance of twenty-seven women and youth groups across northern Nigeria, has come forward to laud Tinubu’s administration while condemning the plots by some northern elite against the administration to undermine the President’s 2027 reelection chances.
In a statement, WYNE Chairperson Rebecca Turai Zing emphasized the overwhelming support for Tinubu in the region, noting that the scheming by an inconsequential section of northern Nigerian elite is a manifestation of the disquiet fueled by political opportunism and corruption.
“The assertion by Minister Matawalle that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration enjoy solid support from the North is validated by the unanimous backing from various influential groups,” stated Zing. “The futile northern schemes are merely symptoms of the disquiet in the country, exacerbated by political opportunism and the corruption that is now fighting back against a system committed to integrity and reform.”
Zing further elucidated that the intentions of these “forces of reaction” are clear: to derail the war against corruption and reverse the progressive, populist measures implemented by the Tinubu government.
“That the aims of these reactionary forces are to halt the war against corruption and reverse the populist tendencies of the Bola Tinubu government is not in doubt,” Zing affirmed. “The intention to undermine Tinubu’s administration reveals a desperate attempt to cling onto remnants of a corrupt past.”
The WYNE alliance, which represents a broad coalition of women and youth from across northern Nigeria, is unequivocal in its support for President Tinubu’s administration. The group’s endorsement adds to a growing list of regional endorsements that underscore the president’s popularity and his administration’s wide-reaching support.
Zing insisted that the people of the North are standing firmly behind President Tinubu in his efforts to drive progress and development in the country. This show of support, she said, is not without reason, as President Tinubu has shown a strong commitment to combating insecurity, poverty, corruption and improving the lives of northerners and all Nigerians.
The statement pointed out that despite facing adversity and resistance from corrupt and power- thirsty elites, the people of the North remain steadfast in their support for their leader saying, this unwavering loyalty stems from President Tinubu’s track record of delivering tangible results and his commitment to uplifting the nation as a whole.
One of President Tinubu’s most notable achievements, according to Zing, has been his relentless efforts to tackle insecurity and corruption head-on. She said by implementing strict anti measures and holding individuals accountable for their actions, President Tinubu has demonstrated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
“This stance has resonated with the people of the North, who have long been disenfranchised by the desperation of elites like Elrufai, Kwankwaso and others.
Furthermore, President Tinubu, according to the group, has been instrumental in driving economic growth and development in the region. Through strategic investments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, “President Tinubu has created opportunities for the people of the North to thrive and prosper. His visionary leadership has empowered the people to take control of their own destinies and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
“In the face of attempts by corrupt elites to derail the progress that has been made, the people of the North have remained resolute in their support for President Tinubu. They recognize the transformative impact that his leadership has had on their lives and are unwilling to let it be undermined by self-serving interests. Through their unwavering solidarity, the people of the North send a clear message to those who seek to disrupt the harmony and progress that has been achieved under President Tinubu’s administration.
“Any attempts by corrupt elites to derail this progress will be met with firm resistance from the people of the North and indeed all Nigerians who are committed to building a better and more just society,” Zing concluded.

Exposing Abdulsamad Dasuki’s Hypocrisy : Calls for Sacking of Security Appointees Despite Family’s Involvement in the Arms Scandal

By Douglas Ekhenghen

It is truly mind-boggling to witness the audacity of Abdulsamad Dasuki, a member of the family of a failed and discredited former National Security Adviser, attempting to downplay the successes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s security team in the fight against insecurity. Dasuki, a Peoples Democratic Party member of the House of Representatives, has the nerve to call for the sacking of all security-related appointees from the northern region of the country, despite his own family’s involvement in a financial scandal related to the purchase of arms.
The recent comments made by Dasuki, the brother of former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, regarding the current administration’s efforts to tackle insecurity in Nigeria have raised eyebrows and sparked controversy. Dasuki, whose brother was implicated in a scandal involving funds meant for addressing the country’s security challenges, has been vocal in his criticism of the Tinubu government’s approach to addressing the issue. However, his criticism is nothing short of hypocritical, as it is clear that his motives are driven by personal biases and a desire to undermine the current administration, rather than a genuine concern for the well-being of the country.
It is important to note that Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, was at the center of a scandal involving the misappropriation of funds meant for addressing the country’s security challenges. The scandal, which came to light during the previous administration, raised serious questions about the integrity and accountability of those in power. Given this background, it is ironic that Dasuki, the brother of the implicated official, would have the audacity to criticize the current administration’s efforts to tackle insecurity.
Dasuki’s motives for criticizing the current administration’s efforts to tackle insecurity are questionable. It is apparent that his comments are driven by personal biases and a desire to discredit the Tinubu government, rather than a genuine concern for the well-being of the country. By using his family’s connection to the previous administration’s scandal as a platform to criticize the current government, Dasuki is engaging in a political game that serves his own interests rather than the interests of the Nigerian people.
The insecurity that plagues our nation today is a direct result of the mismanagement and corruption that characterized the previous administrations, including the one in which Dasuki’s brother served. The looting of the treasury and the theft of defense resources during the 16 years of PDP rule have left a legacy of insecurity that the current administration is working tirelessly to address.
Instead of acknowledging the progress that has been made in combating insecurity under President Tinubu’s leadership, Dasuki and his cohorts are intent on sowing discord and discrediting the government for their own political gain. Their actions are not only irresponsible but also dangerous, as they risk destabilizing the country and undermining the efforts of those who are working to restore peace and security.
Dasuki’s criticism of the Tinubu government’s approach to addressing insecurity in Nigeria is not only hypocritical but also misguided. It is evident that the current administration has made significant strides in addressing the security challenges facing the country, including the fight against Boko Haram and other insurgent groups. The government has implemented various strategies and initiatives to enhance security and protect the lives and property of Nigerians. While there is still much work to be done, it is unfair to dismiss these efforts and undermine the progress that has been made.
It is imperative that we see through the political games being played by individuals like Dasuki and hold them accountable for their actions. The security and well-being of our nation should not be used as a pawn in a political power struggle. It is time for us to stand united against those who seek to exploit our vulnerabilities for their own selfish interests. President Tinubu and his security team deserve our support and recognition for their unwavering commitment to keeping our country safe.
In conclusion, Dasuki’s criticism of the Tinubu government’s efforts to tackle insecurity in Nigeria is hypocritical and misguided. His comments are driven by personal biases and a desire to undermine the current administration, rather than a genuine concern for the well-being of the country. It is important to recognize the progress that has been made in addressing security challenges in Nigeria and to support the government’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.

Marafa’s Political Empire Crumbles as APC Youths Expose His Shameful Lie

Abu Barau

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Alliance has vehemently refuted Senator Kabiru Marafa’s recent assertion of leading a faction within the party in the state.

In a statement issued by the group’s chairman, Tijjani Kaula Shinkafi, Marafa was vehemently discredited as a politically insignificant figure with no relevance in Zamfara politics. Shinkafi emphasized Marafa’s lack of credibility, labeling him as a non-entity without any substantial political influence.

The statement further dismissed Marafa’s delusional claims of coexisting with prominent political figures such as Yari and Matawalle, portraying such assertions as symptoms of political delirium. The chairman urged Marafa to acknowledge his futile political endeavors and accept his waning significance in the political landscape of Zamfara State.

Additionally, the statement clarified that Marafa’s alleged leadership of a faction within the APC lacked substance, asserting that he stood isolated and bereft of any considerable support within the party.

The APC Youth Alliance’s resolute repudiation underscores a stark rejection of Marafa’s purported involvement in Zamfara politics, portraying him as a lone figure detached from the party’s core leadership and membership.

“For a featherweight like Marafa who has since stripped himself of every credibility and been swimming in the sea of irrelevance and inconsequence to claim to rub shoulders with eminent heavyweights like Yari and Matawalle is the peak of political insanity.

“The earlier Marafa comes out of his dementia and accepts the stark reality that he is a deadbeat politician who fate had been permanently sealed, the better for him,” Shinkafi said.

The statement went on to assert that Marafa’s claim of leading a faction of the APC in Zamfara State was baseless and unfounded, as he had no support or following within the party.

“Marafa is a lone ranger who has been abandoned by his own people and has no political relevance or influence in Zamfara State. His delusions of grandeur are laughable and pathetic,” Shinkafi added.

Marafa’s Downfall: How Aligning with Anti-Tinubu Forces Caused His Demise in the APC

By Dr Kabir Lawal Tsafe

Senator Kabiru Marafa used to be known as part of the Zamfara All Progressives Congress (APC) big boys. However, in recent times, he has found himself on the outskirts of the political scene, struggling to regain the relevance he once enjoyed within the party.

Marafa’s fall from grace within the All Progressives Congress (APC) can be attributed to a combination of factors that have led to his marginalization within the party. One of the key reasons for his decline in influence is his betrayal of the party leadership ideals and his refusal to toe the party line.

In the realm of politics, loyalty to one’s party and its core values is often seen as a crucial aspect of a politician’s career. However, there are times when individuals choose to deviate from this path in pursuit of their own personal ambitions.

Such was the case with Senator Kabiru Marafa, who decided to align himself with a section of the northern Nigerian elite in a bid to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s  2027 bid as accurately insinuated by Senator Shehu Sani recently

Marafa’s decision to go against the established hierarchy of his party, the APC, ultimately backfired. Instead of working within the party’s framework and supporting its leadership, Marafa chose to align himself with individuals like Alhaji Danbilki Kwamanda, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Nasir Elrufai and Professor Dikwa, who are among the prominent names in the Anti-Tinubu project.

This move not only alienated Marafa from the party’s  mainstream, but also pushed him to the margins of irrelevance and political decay. By aligning himself with a faction that is opposed to the party’s leadership, Marafa effectively isolated himself from the mainstream of the party and lost the support of key party members.

Furthermore, Marafa’s decision to undermine Tinubu was seen as a betrayal by many within the party. Tinubu, as one of the founding members of the APC and current Nigerian president,  commands a significant amount of respect and influence within the party.

By joining the plot against Tinubu, Marafa not only undermined the party’s leadership but also damaged what remains of his own diminshed reputation within the party.

In the end, Marafa’s decision proved to be a costly mistake. Instead of furthering his own political career, Marafa found himself on the fringes of the party, marginalized and irrelevant.

By choosing to align himself with a faction opposed to the party’s leadership, Senator Kabiru Marafa ultimately sealed his own fate and found himself on the path to political irrelevance and decay. As a result, his voice, which once carried weight and influence, is no longer taken seriously by many within the party, as he is seen as someone who cannot be trusted to uphold the party’s values and principles.

In an attempt to reclaim his lost status within the APC, Marafa has embarked on a campaign to reassert himself by forming a small circle of friends outside Zamfara state and claiming to hold a faction of the APC. However, instead of seeking to align himself with key party figures like Senator Abdulaziz Yari and Defence Minister Bello Natawalle, Marafa has chosen to continue making inconsequential claims of leading a faction that is non-existent. These efforts have so far been met with limited success, as many within the party remain wary of his intentions and skeptical of his motives.

Marafa’s quest to regain relevance within the APC remains an uphill battle.

The party leadership is unlikely to welcome him back with open arms, given his history of dissent and his tendency to challenge the status quo. Moreover, his reputation as a maverick and a troublemaker precedes him, making it difficult for him to win back the trust and support of his colleagues.

Marafa must make efforts to mend fences with those he has clashed with in the past and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the party’s values and principles. By aligning himself with key party figures and working towards a common goal, Marafa may be able to rebuild his image within the party and regain the trust of his colleagues. However, if he continues on his current path of division and betrayal, Marafa’s fall from grace within the APC is likely to continue, leading to further marginalization and isolation within the party. Only time will tell whether Marafa can once again become relevant within the party, or whether he will remain a lost politician, struggling to find his way back into the fold.

Kyari’s Visionary Leadership Revolutionizes Nigeria’s Oil Industry

The Nineteen-Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement for Peace, Unity, Empowerment, and Development Initiative (NSNCM) has condemned the recent call by a group of individuals for the sack of the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPCL), Malam Mele Kyari.

The Nineteen-Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement for Peace, Unity, Empowerment, and Development Initiative (NSNCM) has condemned calls for the sack of Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of NNPCL, labeling them as “enemies of progress” and “blackmailers.”

According to the group, the call for his sack is not only baseless but also biased and retrogressive, citing proactive measures taken to block all their possible ways and means to continue the cannibalization of the Nigeria oil sector as the only reason for the attacks.

The National Chairman of the group, Comrade Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, who disclosed this during a Press conference held at Abuja said, “It is clear that Mele Kyari is one of the best things that have ever happened to NNPC Ltd, and therefore, it would be suicidal to nurse any negative attempt to unseat him at this crucial time that he is already transforming the corporation, unless if the nation is not truly after the economic transformation and revitalization of NNPC Ltd and Nigeria.”

He further said, “We don’t want to believe someone somewhere is nursing an Anti-North agenda, which we strongly believe is not President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, having known how much the North rally around him with the massive vote and looking towards 2027 for his re-election, considering the President, Economic, Security and Infrastructural developmental drive a word is enough for a wise.”

The transformational and developmental drive of the oil sector by Mal. Mele Kyari, through robust revenue generation, redirection, and scientific upliftment of the Nigeria oil sector, is making this enemies of Nigeria Economic boom to have sleepless night.

Speaking on how deliberate efforts were made to strengthen Nigeria’s energy security and improve the profitability and efficiency of its oil and gas sector, the Chairman of the group of Amalgamation of 596 registered affiliated grassroots Northern Association from Nineteen Northern States and associations of Northerners Resident in the Seventeen Southern States and FCT, further stated: “President Buhari appointed Mele Kyari as the Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPC in July 2019, succeeding Maikanti Baru upon his retirement.”

Since assuming the role, Kyari has implemented numerous reforms aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the corporation.

One of Kyari’s major initiatives is the TAPE agenda, which focuses on transparency, accountability, performance, and excellence. This agenda seeks to eradicate corruption, bribery, and racketeering within NNPC, transforming it into a reputable oil giant.

Kyari has also set ambitious goals for the corporation, including raising crude oil production to 3 million barrels per day and increasing reserves to 40 billion barrels by 2023. His efforts have already led to significant achievements, such as resolving a longstanding dispute in the Akuku Toru community of Rivers State, which restored 35,000 barrels of oil production per day.

Under his leadership, the NNPC successfully reached the Final Investment Decision (FID) on Train 7 of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) in November 2019, a project expected to generate over $20 billion in revenue and create over 50,000 jobs. Additionally, Kyari oversaw the commencement of the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project, with funding secured from a Chinese bank.

Kyari has also driven the digitization of NNPC’s operations, reducing human-related operational risks. For instance, the corporation launched software that enables marketers to view inventories across 22 depots in real-time, improving decision-making and efficiency.

In terms of recruitment, Kyari organized a transparent and fair exercise, leading to the employment of 1,050 candidates out of 600,000 applicants. This marked the first publicly advertised recruitment exercise by NNPC since 2012.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kyari mobilized stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to raise N21 billion for the Petroleum Industry Intervention Fund, supporting medical interventions across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

The creation of the National Assembly has significantly empowered NNPC Limited to ensure Nigeria’s energy security, a critical aspect of national security.

This has enabled the corporation to take bold steps in the transformation of the oil and gas sector, aligning with the government’s vision for the industry.

The group further commended Kyari’s leadership style, which they described as “transparency personified.” They noted that under his watch, NNPC has become more open and accountable, with regular publication of its financial records and operations.

Governor Bago’s Trip to Saudi Arabia: Debunking the False Claims

By Nda Saliu Suleiman

Governor Bago’s opponents seem to be creating mischief by launching baseless attacks against him, as evidenced by the politically sponsored nature of the accusations made in the article. The allegations regarding his trip to Saudi Arabia lack any merit and appear to be aimed at tarnishing his reputation and creating unrest among the people. Governor Bago’s response to the questions raised during his interview on DW Hausa was appropriate and in line with the constitution, debunking the claim that he can only be away for a maximum of 21 days without notifying the National Assembly.
The article in question presents a scathing critique of Governor Bago that his recent trip to Saudi Arabia. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that these accusations are baseless and nothing more than a politically sponsored attack by his opponents. Governor Bago’s response to the questions raised during his interview on DW Hausa was appropriate and within his rights as outlined by the constitution.
It is essential for the writer of the article to familiarize themselves with the constitution and not interpret its provisions out of ignorance. The suggestion that the outcry against the governor’s trip is politically motivated and misleading holds true, as none of his allies, civil servants, or business people have expressed any dissatisfaction with his decision to travel. Governor Bago is known for heeding and tolerating criticisms and feedback from the people and has made necessary adjustments to his actions in the past.
Governor Bago believes that effective leadership requires humility, openness to feedback, and the willingness to admit mistakes. By prioritizing the welfare of the people and addressing urgent issues such as the recent mining site collapse, Governor Bago has demonstrated effective leadership and gained the trust and support of the people. The allegations made against him in the article are unfounded and politically motivated, aiming to tarnish his reputation. It is crucial to critique such baseless attacks and defend the governor’s actions assertively.
It is essential not to be swayed by politically motivated attacks and instead focus on supporting leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people. Governor Bago’s track record of listening to the concerns of the people, addressing them accordingly, and making necessary changes highlights his commitment to effective leadership. By standing up against baseless accusations and supporting leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people, we can ensure a better future for our society.
The evidence presented in the article reveals a clear pattern of politically sponsored attacks against Governor Bago, aimed at creating mischief and tarnishing his reputation. The accusations regarding his trip to Saudi Arabia lack merit and appear to be a deliberate attempt to stir up unrest among the people.

Timi Frank Seeks ICC Sanctions Against Army, Police Over Killing Of Kenyan Protesters

*Urges President Ruto to apologise over anti-people law

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Friday, called on the International Criminal Court (ICC), to investigate and prosecute heads of security agencies responsible for the killing of innocent protesters in Kenya which constitutes crime against humanity.

He also called on President William Ruto to urgently apologize to the people of Kenyan for attempting to make a legislation that was manifestly anti-people before he was forced to beat a retreat by the angered youths.

Frank who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja, said he is standing solidly behind the youths of Kenyan for rising up to oppose dictatorial tendencies on the part of the government of Kenya in a democratic setting even though President Ruto is his personal friend.

He further called on the international community especially the United States, United Kingdom, European Union to place a visa ban on the heads of the security agencies that would be indicted by the ICC after wholistic investigations.

“Those who issued orders to security agencies to shoot at and kill innocent and peaceful protesters must be urgently fished out and prosecuted according to international law,” Frank said.

According to him, the right to protest is enshrined in several international treaties and declarations, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

He insisted that recognising this right inevitably imposes an obligation on the state including the government and armed forces of Kenya to facilitate protest, including by ensuring protesters are safe and not to kill them.

Frank said: “Protest is a public demonstration of disapproval and it not a criminal action, therefore to kill lawful citizens for protesting is a crime against humanity which must be condemned by all with attendant sanction on perpetrators to serve as a deterrent.

“We stand with the Kenyan protesters and we mourn those who have paid the supreme price. However, we urgently demand the International Criminal Court to go after those that killed protesters.”

He lamented that “majority of Kenyans including the youths now being massacred voted massively to elect Ruto to office because of the trust and confidence that they had in him and people believed he was going to be a people’s president and that is what we expect him to be.

“So apologising to the youths and by extension Kenyans is not a sign of weakness but an action that will further endear him to the people and bring the much needed stability and peace in Kenya.

He called on Ruto to listen to and prioritise the wishes of Kenyans because they were the ones that voted him into power.

In a similar manner, he called on the youths of Nigeria to wake up the spirit of Occupy Nigeria in 2012 and the #ENDSARS Protests to curb the excesses of the present administration through legitimate protests.

“Let Nigerians wake up and pay the sacrifice that Kenyans have paid because that is the only way we can have a better country,” he said

NAN Welcomes Court Ruling on Kano Emirate Law, Lauds Victory for Traditional Institutions

Lami Abu

The Kano State chapter of the Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has expressed solidarity with the recent ruling of the Federal High Court in Kano, which set aside the Kano State Emirate Law 2024.

This law had dissolved the five Emirates in Kano State, causing significant controversy and upheaval within the region. In a statement released by NAN chairman for Kano State Sani Abubakar, the organization expressed its satisfaction with the court’s decision to dismiss all actions taken by the Kano State Government to repeal the Kano Emirates Council Law.

This law was relied upon by the state to dethrone the 15th Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, and four others. NAN described the ruling as a significant step in restoring honor and integrity to the traditional institution.

The organization has highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law and constitutionalism in order to prevent political manipulation of traditional institutions. It recalled that traditionally, the traditional institution has held a revered and respected position in Nigerian society.

However, in recent years, there have been instances of political interference and manipulation of traditional rulers for political gain. This has not only tarnished the reputation of traditional rulers but has also undermined their ability to serve as unbiased and impartial leaders within their communities.

“The court’s ruling is a pivotal moment in addressing these challenges and restoring the honor and dignity of the traditional institution. By upholding the rule of law and constitutionalism, the court has sent a clear message that traditional rulers should be free from political manipulation and interference.

This decision will help to ensure that traditional rulers can continue to fulfill their roles as custodians of tradition, culture, and community leadership without outside influence. Moving forward, it is important for all stakeholders to respect the independence and integrity of the traditional institution.

By upholding the rule of law and constitutionalism, we can safeguard the honor and reputation of traditional rulers and ensure that they continue to play a vital role in promoting peace, unity, and development within Nigerian society,” the NAN statement said.

NAN issued a call to the Kano State government and Sunusi Lamido to abide by the court’s decision, urging them to respect the sanctity of the legal system. “This court decision should serve as a reminder to politicians that traditional institutions are to be revered, not tarnished,” stated Suleiman.
