Top-notch S’west Group Praise Security Agencies, Back President Tinubu

By Bayo Dosunmu

Yoruba youths under the umbrella of the Yoruba Youth Council have commended the nation’s security apparatus for the arrest of Bashir Hadejia, a suspected mastermind of treason, gun-running, and transborder crimes. The youths also expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement by the leader of the Yoruba Youth Council, Comrade Eric Oluwole, the youths described the arrest as “a loud testimony of the vigilance of our country’s security network being coordinated jointly by the National Security Adviser; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Defence Minister; Bello Matawalle, the Armed Forces, Police and other security agencies.”

Oluwole noted that the arrested Hadeja is one of the suspected most dangerous transnational criminals with strong local connections which they allegedly exploit to fuel unrest in Nigeria.

“Hadejia’s confession of sponsoring the recent #EndBadGovernance protests confirms the fear in some quarters that unscrupulous individuals with means could infiltrate and exploit well-intentioned protests by aggrieved Nigerians, to perpetrate their criminal, unpatriotic and selfish agenda of destabilising the Country and discrediting the government in power,” he said.

The Yoruba Youth leader also called for a thorough investigation into the activities of the arrested suspect and his collaborators, saying it should be done in collaboration with security agencies of neighbouring countries and possibly with INTERPOL.

“We the Yoruba youths note that the economic hardship being experienced by all Nigerians across the country predated the present administration. Therefore, it would be wrong to blame the Tinubu administration for the present hardship which accumulated over the years,” Oluwole said.

“While we commend the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for its efforts to protect the sovereignty of our Country, we call on the Federal Government to provide the fund and materials needed for the security agencies to function optimally. We declare our unwavering support for the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”

Treasonous Acts of Bashir Hadejiya: A Threat to National Security, NAN

By Nuhu Kalgo

The Northern Awareness Network (NAN), compelled by a profound sense of outrage and resolve, wishes to address the appalling revelations surrounding the arrest of one Bashir Hadejiya—a man whose nefarious activities pose a severe threat not only to the sovereignty of our great nation but also to the very fabric of our society. This flagrant case of treason, gun-running, and transnational crime serves as a clarion call for all Nigerians to confront the alarming reality we face: a sinister nexus of criminality that extends beyond our borders and threatens the stability of our Republic.

First and foremost, we commend the Nigerian security agencies for their extraordinary success in apprehending Bashir Hadejiya. This arrest reflects the unwavering commitment and diligence of our defense and law enforcement agencies, who deserve our unequivocal support as they confront these criminal elements.

According to a statement issued by Salifu Suleiman, Chairman NAN, the ability of the security agencies to unravel such an intricate web of deceit and treason is commendable and must be acknowledged. However, we must not simply rest on the laurels of this significant achievement; the roots of this menace run deep, and we must act decisively.

The cross-national implications brought to light by Mr. Hadejiya’s confession are alarming. His links to the gun-running trade, combined with his involvement in the smuggling of gold believed to be stolen from the Central Bank of Libya, reveal a dangerous partnership with international criminal networks. These conspirators are not only undermining our national integrity but also facilitating the flow of arms and financial resources that fuel terrorism and instability across the West African region. This is an affront to our sovereignty and an invasion of our peace.

Reports surrounding Hadejiya’s arrest paint a grim picture of a man entangled in a web of criminality that transcends national borders. The insidious nature of his activities—money laundering, arms smuggling, and support for terrorism—should serve as a wake-up call for all of us. His confessions unveil a shadowy underbelly that threatens not only the stability of Nigeria but poses a significant threat to regional and global security.

Criminal networks, such as the one Hadejiya is part of, do not recognize borders; their implications ripple through societies, fostering violence, fear, and socio-economic decay. Moreover, the fact that Mr. Hadejiya has openly confessed to sponsoring various protests, including the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations that erupted across our nation, is a cause for grave concern. Such activities, twisted and corrupted by ulterior motives, threaten to undermine legitimate calls for accountability and reform.

Instead of addressing the grievances of the people, they have precipitated chaos on the streets, destabilized communities, and compromised the security of our nation. It is shocking, infuriating even, to learn that Hadejiya was connected to the devastations of the recent #EndBadGovernance Protests across northern Nigeria, where young people, driven by pent-up grievances, were manipulated and sponsored by a criminal element seeking to exploit their frustrations.

Not only did Bashir Hadejiya fund these protests, but he also engineered violence by spearheading attacks on political entities, including the assault on the Jigawa State APC headquarters, and the destruction in Kano, Kaduna, and Abuja. This exploitation of legitimate dissent by criminal conspirators underscores the need for greater vigilance and accountability in our political arena.

The gravity of Bashir Hadejiya’s confessions cannot be overstated. He has admitted to associations with sponsors of his treasonous activities, some of whom are said to reside in the very corridors of political power. It is particularly disconcerting to learn that links extend to a former Director of the Department of State Security Service (DSS). These connections are indicative of a broader systemic failure within our political and security institutions, which have allowed criminal enterprises to infiltrate our governance structures.

The very individuals sworn to safeguard our nation’s security seem to be complicit, if not outrightly supportive, of these criminal factions. Furthermore, the disturbing connection between Bashir Hadejiya’s operations and stolen wealth from the Libyan Central Bank—specifically, bars of gold—reveals the complex and entrenched relationships between our national security, global economics, and the threats posed by international crime syndicates.

These actions affect not just Nigeria, but our neighbors and the broader international community. We must recognize that transnational crime does not occur in isolation; it is part of a larger network of destabilization efforts that threaten peace and prosperity. We must identify and dismantle not just the visible structures of criminal enterprise but also the invisible networks of political and economic complicity that allow these crimes to flourish.

The involvement of individuals purportedly linked to high-ranking officials and former heads of security services is an indictment of our institutions. It reeks of corruption, collusion, and complicity that

AYCF Commends Security Agencies for Apprehending Bashir Hadejiya

By Esse Adoma

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) today addresses a matter of grave national concern, yet one which provides an avenue for unity and enhanced commitment to our shared future. Our recent collective focus on the security of the Nigerian state has been underscored dramatically by the arrest of Bashir Hadejiya. This operation, orchestrated by our diligent security agencies, represents a remarkable achievement in safeguarding the integrity and sovereignty of Nigeria.

We commend the Nigerian Police and the myriad security agencies involved in this extraordinary success. Your commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our communities is exemplary. The apprehension of individuals like Bashir Hadejiya not only protects our borders but also underscores the importance of vigilance in combating increasingly sophisticated networks of crime.

The confession of Bashir Hadejiya has unveiled a disturbing nexus of criminality that transcends national boundaries, posing significant threats not only to Nigeria but to the broader West African region and beyond. His involvement in the gun-running trade and the smuggling of gold pilfered from the Central Bank of Libya underscores a perilous partnership with international criminal networks.

These entities do not merely undermine our national integrity; they provide the very resources necessary for exacerbating terrorism and instability across West Africa—a situation that represents a severe affront to our sovereignty and a pronounced invasion of our peace. The implications of Hadejiya’s criminal endeavors are profound and far-reaching.

Reports surrounding his arrest paint a grim portrait of a culprit enmeshed in a web of illicit activities, including arms trafficking, money laundering, and the facilitation of terrorism. Such actions should function as a harbinger of concern for citizens and lawmakers alike.

Hadejiya’s confessions illustrate a shadowy underbelly that not only threatens the stability of Nigeria but also serves as a bellwether for the broader security landscape, as these criminal networks operate beyond geographical constraints. The ripple effects of their operations have generated an environment rife with violence, fear, and socio-economic decay—equally damaging to individual nations and to the wider international community.

Compounding these alarming developments is Hadejiya’s admission of funding and orchestrating protests, notably the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations that erupted across Nigeria. While the original intent of such protests—calling for accountability and reform—may be noble, the infiltration of criminal elements into these movements poses a serious danger.

It has led to the corruption of legitimate dissent, precipitating chaos and disorder across our communities. The stark reality that vulnerable populations can be manipulated in their moments of frustration reveals the exploitation of genuine grievances by those with ulterior motives. This manipulation is particularly evident in the recent disturbances across northern Nigeria, where young demonstrators, driven by long-standing frustrations, were co-opted and funded by criminal conspirators intent on advancing their own chaotic agendas.

The gravity of the implications of Bashir Hadejiya’s actions cannot be overstated. His confessions, particularly regarding his connections to influential figures in the political sphere, reveal deeper, systemic failings within our governance structures. These connections are not merely incidental; they indicate a troubling state of affairs in which the very institutions tasked with ensuring the safety and integrity of the nation appear to harbor, or at the very least tolerate, criminal enterprises.

This complicity—or, at best, the negligence of duty—exposes a vulnerability in our political and security frameworks that must not be ignored. In essence, the cross-national implications illuminated by Hadejiya’s confession provide ample justification for alarm. The interconnected nature of global criminal networks means that incidents of this sort cannot be treated as isolated cases.

Rather, they form part of a larger tapestry of chaos that jeopardizes national security and regional stability. The implications ripple outward, threatening democratic processes and undermining the rule of law. The ability of individuals like Hadejiya to not only navigate but exploit the gaps within our governance structures serves as a clarion call for more stringent measures to ensure accountability and transparency in our political arenas.

To stem the tide of these insidious influences, it is imperative that we remain vigilant and proactive. Policymakers, security agencies, and civil society must engage in robust discourse on how to fortify our political institutions against the encroachment of organized crime. This includes enhanced accountability mechanisms to ensure that political actors are not only transparent in their dealings but also held liable for any complicity in illegal activities.

The integrity of our democratic processes and the safety of our communities depend on a comprehensive approach that addresses the multifaceted challenges presented by figures like Bashir Hadejiya. In light of these events, we take this opportunity to remind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the numerous communiqués and calls urging him to acknowledge the ongoing machinations against his administration driven by malicious elements, both within and outside our borders.

These tactics are directed not just at the President, but at his steadfast

International Conspiracy: $50,000 Blackmail Plot Targeting Matawalle Aims to Destabilize Nigeria

By Suleiman Abbah

The revelation by Ambassador Abdul Danbature of a $50,000 blackmail plot against Nigeria’s Defence Minister Bello Mohammed Matawalle has sent shockwaves across the nation. This disturbing report, originally brought to light by the Pacific News Times, exposes a dangerous scheme aimed at undermining Nigeria’s national security by tarnishing the reputation of a key government official.
The earlier emergence of a video featuring a notorious bandit leader making baseless allegations against Minister Matawalle, coupled with the timing of these allegations in conjunction with the foiled #Endbadgovernance protests, paints a grim picture of an orchestrated campaign intended to destabilize the North and weaken the federal government’s machinery.
Danbature’s disclosure that the financial inducement was offered to tarnish the image of a senior government official suggests a meticulously planned campaign with potentially dire consequences. The ambitious offer to assassinate the character and reputation of a key defense figure within the Nigerian government is emblematic of a troubling trend of international interference in the country’s internal affairs.
The context surrounding this blackmail plot suggests a more comprehensive agenda at play, drawing connections between the alleged smear campaign and strategic sociopolitical events transpiring in Nigeria’s northern region. The correlation between these events and the presence of media narratives featuring unsubstantiated accusations against Minister Matawalle hints at a local conspiracy with the potential involvement of international collusion
This revelation highlights the vulnerability of Nigeria’s political system to external interference and manipulation. It raises questions about the integrity and security of the country’s government officials and institutions. If a Defence Minister can be targeted for blackmail, what other key figures in the government are at risk of being compromised?
The implications of this blackmail plot go beyond just one individual or ministry. It speaks to broader issues of corruption, influence-peddling, and foreign interference in Nigeria’s political landscape. It raises concerns about the extent to which the country’s sovereignty and national security are being threatened by external actors seeking to manipulate and control key decision-makers.
The fact that the offer came through a local intermediary suggests that there may be domestic collaborators involved in this nefarious scheme. This raises questions about the extent to which corruption and collusion are undermining the integrity of Nigeria’s political system and eroding public trust in the government.
Ambassador Abdul Danbature’s decision to expose this blackmail plot takes courage and integrity. It demonstrates a commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. It sends a strong message that such attempts to undermine Nigeria’s national security will not go unchallenged and that those responsible will be held accountable.
The involvement of external actors in Nigeria’s internal affairs is a cause for concern and requires a coordinated response from the government, law enforcement, and security agencies. It is essential to identify the individuals and entities behind this blackmail plot and to take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The ongoing machinations aimed at disrupting the relationship between the President and Matawalle serve as a reminder of the complex interplay of power, loyalty, and influence in Nigerian politics. The Minister’s steadfast defense of the President’s ideals highlights not only his indispensable role within the administration but also underscores the threats felt by those who perceive his growing influence as a challenge.
The engagement of foreign collaborators in this political tug-of-war signifies more than mere transactional politics; it reflects a deep-seated anxiety among self-appointed adversaries of President Bola Tinubu. These individuals perceive the Matawalle’s growing influence and proximity to the President as a direct challenge to their aspirations and agendas. In a political landscape that is fraught with volatility, the Minister emerges as a singularly indomitable force, showcasing not only loyalty but also a nuanced understanding of the complexities involved in governance.
Indeed, the Matawalle’s ability to cross these treacherous waters, marked by both external pressures and internal dissent, positions him as a crucial bulwark against the multitude of storms that threaten Tinubu and the administration. His unwavering support for the President’s ideals, coupled with a strategic vision for the future of Nigeria, illustrates why he is increasingly seen as the only reliable figure amidst a cacophony of competing interests. This reality is particularly disconcerting for those who feel their political capital waning in light of the Minister’s ascendancy.
Moreover, the deliberate attempts to create rifts between the President and Matawalle seem to stem from an understanding that collaboration between these key figures is essential for reinforcing governance and addressing the myriad challenges facing Nigeria today. The Minister’s role in fortifying this collaboration and enhancing the President’s support base cannot be overstated. His commitment to the President’s agenda reflects a rare blend of political acumen and visionary leadership, qualities that his detractors find increasingly threatening.
As Nigeria navigates its multifaceted challenges, the Minister’s position as a reliable ally of the President will undoubtedly continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s political landscape and ensuring that Tinubu’s ideals of governance are effectively promoted and defended.
The timing of this revelation, during a period of heightened political sensitivity, indicates that there are concerted efforts to destabilize Nigeria’s leadership and create chaos and confusion. It is imperative that the government remains vigilant and takes proactive steps to safeguard the country’s national security and protect its key officials from external threats.
The fact that a foreign source was willing to offer such a significant sum of money to compromise the Defence Minister’s credibility underscores the lengths to which some actors are willing to go to achieve their nefarious objectives. It is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by external interference in Nigeria’s political affairs and the need for constant vigilance and decisive action to counter such threats.
.As Nigeria’s political environment grows increasingly complex, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must remain vigilant and proactive in countering destabilizing maneuvers aimed at undermining the government. Collaboration with international partners who share a vested interest in maintaining peace and stability in Nigeria is crucial. It is imperative for the international community to respect Nigeria’s sovereignty and support its government in upholding law and order.
The issue of national integrity and security is of paramount importance for Nigeria, a nation facing numerous internal and external threats to its stability and democratic order. Nigeria’s unity and security are constantly under strain from various sources – an insurgency and banditry in the North, ethnic and communal tensions, secessionist agitations, and the infiltration of criminal elements. Robust and proactive measures are absolutely necessary to confront the forces of destabilization and safeguard the principles of democracy, peace, and good governance.
Decisive action is required to neutralize these threats and reaffirm the government’s capacity to protect its people. Crucially, this effort must involve a united national front, with all arms of government, security agencies, and the general public working in concert. Divisive partisanship or sectarian loyalties have no place when the very foundations of the Nigerian state are at risk.
Politicians, community leaders, and opinion-shapers must rise above narrow interests and rally the populace around the common cause of preserving the country’s territorial integrity and social cohesion. Beyond the domestic front, Nigeria also requires the understanding and support of the international community.
As the most populous country in Africa and a regional powerhouse, Nigeria’s stability is intrinsically linked to the peace and security of the entire sub-Saharan region. A destabilized Nigeria would have dire consequences, from exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in neighboring countries to fueling the scourges of human trafficking and irregular migration.
Therefore, Nigeria’s bilateral and multilateral partnerships must be anchored in the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty, the promotion of peace, and adherence to international legal norms. While the international community has a legitimate role to play in encouraging democratic reforms and upholding human rights, its interventions should not be employed to undermine Nigeria’s legitimate efforts to restore law and order.
Peaceful protests are a constitutional right, but violence and destruction of public property cannot be tolerated in the name of protest. Ultimately, the defense of Nigeria’s national integrity and security is a responsibility that transcends partisan politics or ideological divides. It requires a comprehensive strategy that combines robust law enforcement, intelligence-gathering, and conflict resolution mechanisms with a unifying national narrative that resonates with all Nigerians.
Only through such a concerted effort can the country overcome the specter of chaos and uphold the democratic aspirations of its people.

Arewa Youth Leader Exposes Blackmail Plot Against Defence Minister

By Theresa Omang

One of the leaders of the Arewa Youth who was among leaders of the end bad governance protests in Nigeria, Ambassador Abdul Danbature has disclosed how he was offered the sum of $50,000 to blackmail the Minister of State for defence Bello Matawalle which he turned down.

Danbature who is the Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) said, the offer which is coming from outside the country was extended to him through one of their agents in Nigeria.

According to him, the offer is for him to engage in a two months two weeks of constant attack through press conferences, issuance of press releases on the person and personality of Bello Matawalle.

“They offered me $50,000 to blackmail the Minister of State for defence Bello Matawalle, and to tarnish his image and cordial working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the good people of Zamfara State.”

“Infact, the Terrorists kingpin Bello Turji who came out recently in a viral video where he made unsubstantiated allegations against the Minister was offered same amount to carry out such hatchet job” he further disclosed.

Ambassador Danbature said, the Youths which he represents are committed to good governance and leadership and will not in any form allow themselves to be given to any form of gratification for image slandering and blackmail of any government personality, individual or organization.

He said, he is forced to speak out because there are individuals who are committed to tarnishing images of personalities for political interests, while calling on Youths to beware of such individuals and avoid their antics and manipulations.

“For me, the Minister of State for defence Bello Matawalle is a good man who gave his best as Governor of Zamfara State and currently contributing in no small measure to stabilizing the security situation in the country.”

“I therefore wish to use this medium to call on all and sundry that I cannot, neither can our group be used to malign any body in an attempt to settle political scores” he stressed.

Protests: AYAGL Calls  For Dialogue With Govt

By Samaila Yusuf

The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) said they are now ready to dialogue with the Federal Government and have the governor between now and the end of next week to initiate the dialogue process or will be left with no option than to return back to the streets in protest.

Speaker of the AYAGL, Ambassador Andul Danbature who is one of the organizers of the protest stated this in a telephone conversation shortly after he appeared on Channels Television to give more insight into the protest and it’s suspension.

According to him, “We started this movement because we want to express our grievances and anger and the need for the federal government to meet our needs.

“Some of our demands include;, the return back of fuel subsidy, creation of employment opportunities for youths, stoppage of payment to ex governors , relocation of all service Chiefs to North West to address insecurity holistically
dress insecurity holistically and reversal of harsh government policies among several others”.

“We however commended the Federal Government for calling for dialogue which we have agreed to because the peaceful protest which we started has been hijacked by hoodlums which is not part of our plans and that is why we have suspended the protest to take the part of dialogue with the government.

“Our major problem is the removal of fuel subsidy and naira inflation which has affected poor masses and resulted in unemployment. There is no single development on ground that will benefit the poor masses directly, all we know is that money is being released from the federation account to the National Assembly and also to the governors.

“When we started this movement, we sensitize the youths to understand that our major problem is the governors who sit on allocations from the federal government. We also engaged our coordinator at the local government to engage the governors.

“We are ready to dialogue with the Federal government on our demands and we are giving the government between now and next week, in which failure to do so, we will return back to the streets and.continue the protest” he stressed.

Protest in Nigeria Spark Mixed Reactions

The ongoing nationwide protests in various parts of Nigeria have elicited a range of reactions both domestically and internationally.

Bishop John O. Dickson, President of Friendship Church International Worldwide, has voiced his concerns about the situation. He described the protests, branded as “EndBadGovernance,” as a significant embarrassment and a blemish on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The American-Nigerian Christian cleric lamented the negative impact these protests have had on Nigeria’s image and reputation.

Bishop Dickson stressed the importance of the government heeding the complaints of its citizens and working deliberately to address their grievances. While he acknowledged that dialogue alone is insufficient, he emphasized the need for justice, fairness, and equitable treatment among Nigeria’s diverse population. He also urged Nigerians to pray and seek divine intervention to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Commenting on the current economic challenges, Bishop Dickson highlighted Nigeria’s wealth in human and natural resources. However, he pointed out that corruption and lack of productivity have hindered the effective utilization of these resources. He called for deliberate efforts to change this narrative and predicted a promising future for Nigeria if the government adopts and effectively implements sound policies.

In her statement, Pastor Mrs. Esther Dickson is against shooting and looting of protesters. She called for a thorough investigation and respect for human lives and rights as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. She urged aggrieved Nigerians to engage in peaceful and lawful demonstrations, cautioning against looting and the destruction of private and public property.

Sahel Consulting: Guaranteeing Food Security Through Sustainable Cassava Production

By Comrade Martins

Extreme weather and climate change have worsened Africa’s food insecurity, especially in Nigeria, where oil dependency and other socio-economic factors further strain the food ecosystem. Transforming the agricultural sector is crucial to meeting these challenges, and the cassava value chain offers a viable solution for combating hunger, improving livelihoods, and sustaining the rural economy.

Cassava, a perennial woody shrub with an edible root, was first cultivated in South America and introduced to Nigeria in the sixteenth century. It is a major staple food for millions across the globe and was introduced to Nigeria in the sixteenth century. With Nigeria producing about 63 million tonnes in 2022 (FAO 2022), there’s still a 24 million tonnes deficit in meeting domestic demand. Issues like low farm yields, inadequate land management, poor storage and transportation, pests, diseases, and limited access to improved varieties hinder cassava production.

Despite government efforts over the years, the supply hasn’t kept pace with the growing demand.

To address these challenges, Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition Limited, the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and CEMUOA Limited have been collaborating since 2020 on the Building an Economically Sustainable and Integrated Cassava Seed System (BASICS II) project. As part of the program activities, Demand Creation Trials (DCT) are set up in Akwa Ibom State to increase farmers’ and processors’ awareness of adopting high-quality cassava varieties to improve production, increase food security, and promote sustainability in Nigeria.

On 17 July 2024, this partnership hosted a Farmers’ Field Day event at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Mr. Emmanuel Ameh, Programme Analyst at Sahel Consulting, highlighted the importance of showcasing high-quality cassava varieties to stakeholders and the use of DCT as an evidence-based tool for making informed decisions on the sustainability of cassava varieties.

A critical success factor for this initiative is the active engagement and investment from private sector partners. Mrs. Caroline Udom, Executive Director of CEMUOA Limited, emphasized the success of this collaboration in providing smallholder farmers with improved cassava seedlings.

‘It has been a satisfying experience working with Sahel Consulting Agriculture and Nutrition Limited. With better cassava varieties and superior seeds, CEMUOA Limited can easily achieve more. With what we’ve accomplished here, we’ll go back and multiply the seeds to ensure that our farmers have unimpeded access to high-quality and improved seeds over the course of the next five to six farming seasons.’’ Mrs. Caroline Udom, Executive Director of CEMUOA Limited.

Mr. Uche ThankGod Oche, Senior Researcher Supervisor of the Cassava Breeding Unit at IITA, praised the DCT as a crucial tool for integrating cassava breeding into Nigeria’s seed system activities. He emphasized the importance of strategic innovation and collaboration for food sustainability in Nigeria.

“How to feed Nigeria’s constantly expanding population is one of the country’s most urgent issues. It is therefore revolutionary to adopt the DCT approach in the production and processing of cassava.

Collaboration with regional processors, such as CEMUOA Limited in Uyo, was essential to proving the effectiveness of the many cassava varieties used in the Basic II (DCT) initiative”.

Mrs. Theresa Akpan, President of Women Link Agro International Commission, shared how the DCT project has transformed cassava farming for women in Uyo. She reported that since the group’s founding in 2018, they have never seen such success. The introduction of high-yield varieties like Ayaya and Baba 70 has increased cassava yield and allowed women farmers to better support their families and communities.

The Demand Creation Trails are raising awareness and adoption of high-quality cassava varieties, serving as a vital decision tool for breeders, seed producers, and farmers. Sahel Consulting is dedicated to transforming Nigeria’s agriculture and nutrition landscape, ensuring food security and sustainable development for all.

Join us in this mission and help build a resilient agricultural sector in Nigeria. Reach out to learn more about our initiatives!
