Residents of Chibiri community in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) received a significant boost on Tuesday as the Omalife Rescue Foundation distributed foodstuffs and clothing materials to vulnerable households.

The outreach was part of the foundation’s 2025 Annual Food and Clothes Fiesta, an initiative aimed at supporting underserved families and alleviating the pressures of economic hardship.

A large crowd of beneficiaries, including women, children and the elderly, gathered to collect the assorted items, which are expected to help them meet basic needs during the festive season.
Founder of the foundation, Dr. Mrs. Omanibe Sanusi, stated that the drive was motivated by compassion and a dedication to restoring hope and dignity to the less privileged.
“Poverty, hunger and inadequate childcare remain serious challenges in many of our communities,” she said. “The efforts of individuals and non-governmental organisations are vital in complementing government interventions.”
She explained that Chibiri was chosen for this year’s outreach following an assessment that identified substantial needs among residents, particularly widows, orphans and low-income families.
Community leaders expressed their gratitude for the timely intervention. The Chief of Chibiri, Chief Alhaji Ishaku Sakokwai, and the Onu of Igala Kuje, Chief Alhaji Hassan Khalid, who were present at the event, thanked the foundation for selecting their community and offered prayers for the donors and organisers.
Beneficiaries also praised the initiative, noting that the support would help cushion the effect of current economic challenges for many households.
Volunteers from the foundation coordinated the orderly distribution to ensure a fair and transparent process.
Dr. Sanusi reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to its broader mandate of emergency relief, child welfare, skills development and sustainable support for vulnerable populations.
