Jobberman’s 2025 Kaduna Career Fair: Bridging the Skills Gap in Northern Nigeria’s Workforce

Kaduna: Jobberman Nigeria continues its drive to combat youth unemployment with the announcement of its second Kaduna Career Fair, slated for April 5, 2025, at the Yar’Adua Hall, Murtala Square. Organized under the theme “Empowering Your Career Journey: Navigating Opportunities and Growth,” the event aims to connect thousands of young job seekers with employers while addressing systemic barriers to employment in Northern Nigeria.

The career fair, a flagship initiative under the Young Nigeria Work program, is implemented in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and supported by the Kaduna State Government. It aligns with the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy, which seeks to empower 10 million young Nigerians—with a focus on women, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs)—through dignified employment opportunities.

A Platform for Skills, Inclusion, and Immediate Opportunity

Ahmed Alaga, Head of Programme Partnerships at The African Talent Company (parent organization of Jobberman Nigeria), emphasized the urgency of tackling unemployment in the Northeast. “The Kaduna Career Fair is more than an event—it’s a movement to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. By fostering direct interactions between employers and job seekers, we’re not just filling roles; we’re transforming lives,” he stated.

Key highlights of the fair include:

  • On-the-spot interviews with potential immediate job placements
  • Panel discussions on in-demand skills, gender inclusivity, and strategies to integrate marginalized groups like IDPs and PWDs into the workforce
  • Complimentary exhibition spaces for organizations to showcase their brands and engage prospective employees
