The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, praising his administration’s efforts in key appointments, infrastructure development, and security improvements in the region.

In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, the Forum expressed gratitude for Tinubu’s role in establishing federal institutions and developmental projects across the Middle Belt states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The MBF particularly commended the President for signing into law the North Central Development Commission, aimed at driving economic and infrastructural growth in the region.

The group acknowledged the improved security situation in many parts of the Middle Belt, attributing it to the President’s leadership. However, they urged Tinubu to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity in areas still plagued by violent gangs and insurgents.

Looking ahead, the MBF called on the President to reflect on Nigeria’s ongoing challenges, particularly the need for restructuring—a key demand from various regions across the country. They also urged his administration to review economic policies aimed at reducing poverty, creating jobs, and fostering a more business-friendly environment.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has championed various economic and security reforms. His administration faces the task of addressing economic hardship, insecurity, and national unity ¹.
