Kaduna, Nigeria – The Kaduna State Chapter of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has a new Acting Chairman, Daniel Okpen Ejembi, following his appointment by the Forum’s National President, Dr. Bitrus Pogu.

Ejembi’s appointment was confirmed during a valedictory executive meeting in Kaduna, where he officially took over leadership from the outgoing Chairman, Luka Binniyat. The transition aligns with the Forum’s leadership structure, ensuring continuity and stability.

Binniyat, now serving as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the MBF’s National Working Committee (NWC), stated that Ejembi’s selection was a collective decision by the executive committee. Ejembi, formerly the Assistant Chairman 1, received the official endorsement of Dr. Pogu along with a formal letter of appointment.

In his farewell address, Binniyat reinforced that Ejembi and his newly constituted executive team are the legitimate leaders of the MBF’s Kaduna State Chapter. He cautioned against any unauthorized claims to leadership.

“Any individual or group attempting to act in your capacity or that of your executive committee may be liable for impersonation,” Binniyat warned.

Dr. Pogu extended his congratulations to Ejembi, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the chapter towards greater effectiveness and advocacy.

A businessman, human rights activist, and anti-corruption advocate, Ejembi has long been engaged in Middle Belt affairs. Originally from Benue State, he has lived in Kaduna for years and is known for championing the rights of marginalized communities.

The Middle Belt Forum serves as a voice for ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria that were historically outside the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kanem-Borno Empire before colonial rule. Its influence spans 13 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including communities in Southern Kaduna, Southern Kebbi, Southern Borno, Southern Bauchi, Adamawa, Gombe, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Taraba, and Benue.
